Pinnacle Financial Group was formed in 1990 by founding partners Jim Leonard and Brock Walter. Pinnacle Financial Group is proud to be part of the Strategic Alliance Mortgage (SAM) group, expanding our market knowledge beyond the Midwest to every market across the country. And with over 80 years of combined experience by our loan production teams, we are the most qualified organization to put that information to work, getting our clients the best possible loan terms available in the market.

Our historical production includes numerous loans closed in the 5 major asset types (multi-family, retail, office, industrial and hotels) and other non-traditional asset classes like mixed use, self storage, mobile home parks, emissions control centers and other special purpose assets. Geographically, we have closed loans across the country including locations as far away as Arizona and California. Our closed deals include traditional permanent financing, construction loans, acquisition re-development loans, mezzanine loans, loan modifications, and equity placements.

Jim Leonard
James E. Leonard Principal

As one of the founders of Pinnacle, Jim has over 25 years of experience raising debt and equity for commercial real estate transactions. In addition to handling his client matters, Jim is responsible for staff hiring and training. Prior to forming Pinnacle Financial Group Jim was a Vice President at Kramer & Associates where he worked in property acquisitions and was a CPA for Deloitte Haskins & Sells as a Senior Tax Advisor. Jim is a 1983 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in finance.

Brock Walter
F. Brock Walter Principal

A founder of Pinnacle, Brock has more than 25 years of mortgage banking experience. During that time Brock has placed nearly 2 billion dollars in debt in the construction and permanent debt markets.  Along with his duties as a mortgage banker, Brock shares some of  the day-to-day responsibilities of the Pinnacle servicing portfolio which is in excess of 2 billion dollars.  Prior to forming Pinnacle Financial Group in 1990 Brock was a Vice President at Kramer & Associates where he was a mortgage banker and was previously a CPA, at Deloitte Haskins & Sells were he was a Senior Auditor. Brock graduated from Kent State University in 1983.

Brian Stulak
Brian J. Stulak Principal

Brian has over 15 years of experience in commercial real estate finance. He is primarily responsible for originating debt and structured finance transactions with a wide array of lending institutions, including life insurance companies, securitized lenders, agency lenders (Fannie/Freddie/HUD), pension funds, private equity firms and commercial banks. He also has extensive experience in loan workouts, specifically involving CMBS debt structures. Since joining Pinnacle in 2000, Brian has completed in excess of $2 billion in commercial real estate transactions. Prior to joining Pinnacle, Brian was a Senior Associate at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. At PwC, he became a Certified Public Accountant and was responsible for audits and public debt offerings for a number of publically-traded companies regulated by the SEC. Brian graduated with B.A.'s in both Accounting and Management Information Systems from Miami University (OH.)

Lindee Flater

Lindee Flater, as an associate with Pinnacle Financial Group has over 13 years of experience working with numerous developers, investors and institutional capital sources. She has consulted with clients on all property types throughout the various stages of development. Lindee began her career as a financial analyst where she was responsible for underwriting, valuation and closing transactions, before developing her own clientele of valued customers. Lindee's background includes a B.A. in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa, with a concentration in Real Estate. Prior to joining Pinnacle, she worked for AEGON USA Realty Advisors as a part of their mortgage loan production team.

Heather Mattei

Heather is a Senior Financial Analyst/Loan Closer with Pinnacle Financial Group. Heather joined Pinnacle in 2001 with over 13 years of prior combined experience in mortgage banking, real estate and mergers and acquisitions law. Heather works closely with our clients underwriting and analyzing their properties. In addition, Heather's 25+ years of experience in the commercial lending markets provide our clients with invaluable assistance in navigating the loan closing process from economic due diligence to third party reports. Heather has a Paralegal Degree from St. Vincent College and is an Ohio licensed real estate agent.

Jeannette Walsh
Jeannette K. Walsh LOAN CLOSER

Jeannette is a Financial Analyst/Loan Closer for Pinnacle providing clients with assistance in navigating the loan closing process from economic due diligence to third party reports. In addition, she provides accounting services to several clients to whom Pinnacle provides property management support service. Jeannette joined Pinnacle in September of 2012. Prior to joining Pinnacle, she worked for a Commercial Developer gaining 10 plus years of Commercial Real Estate Experience. Jeannette is a 2003 graduate of Kent State University with a B.A. in Business Administration, Majoring in Business Management.

Christopher J. Litzler
Christopher J. Litzler SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Christopher J. Litzler is Vice President of Originations, a position he assumed on October 1, 2016. During his time with Pinnacle, Chris has been involved in nearly $1 billion in financing across the country. His historical production includes numerous loans closed in the five major asset types (multi-family, retail, office, industrial and hotels) and other non-traditional asset classes like mixed use, self-storage, mobile home parks, and other special purpose assets. Prior to joining Pinnacle, Chris completed two summer internships with DDR Corp. in their Leasing and Capital Transactions departments. Chris received a B.A. in Finance Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Tyler H. Carney-DeBord
Tyler H. Carney-DeBord ASSOCIATE

Tyler is an analyst for Pinnacle Financial Group. He joined Pinnacle in July 2015, coming from a Sales Representative role at Impact Networking, a technology company in Chicago, IL. His responsibilities stem from investment underwriting, where he assists with all aspects of client relationship management. In addition to new investment opportunities, he also assists with loan packaging, and research. Tyler received a B.A. in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University where he was also a four year letter winner in Golf.

Clay Mayor
Clay Mayor ANALYST

Clay is an analyst with Pinnacle Financial Group. He joined Pinnacle in March of 2016, coming from an accounting role at Davenport Financial, LLC, a tax lien investment company in Cleveland, OH where he handled day-to-day responsibilities in accounting for $150+ million in tax lien portfolios. Prior to his experience at Davenport, Clay gained valuable accounting experience at a firm in Rocky River, OH where he was responsible for day-to-day back-office accounting as well as personal income tax return preparation. His responsibilities at Pinnacle consist of market research and preparing loan proposal packages including property valuation and investment underwriting.

Clay Mayor
Alec J. Neesham ANALYST

Alec joined Pinnacle as an Associate in August 2016. In this role, Alec works on all phases of investment underwriting including; property valuation, market analysis, and loan proposal preparation. Alec is originally from Chagrin Falls and attended the University of Kentucky where he studied Business Management and Marketing. After completing his undergraduate studies, Alec completed the Specialized Master of Finance program at The Ohio State University, where he studied Real Estate and Corporate Finance, and was elected by his peers as the recipient of the Most Outstanding Student Award, as well as the class commencement speaker.

Jennifer Dalman
Jennifer M. Dalman

Jennifer joined Pinnacle Financial Group in 1998 to manage their servicing portfolio. She is responsible for overseeing all aspects of servicing their commercial real estate loan portfolio. Prior to joining Pinnacle, her experience has been in commercial real estate and commercial servicing.

Ryan Baskin
Ryan M. Baskin

Ryan joined Pinnacle in 2006 as a Risk Assessment Analyst and is responsible for keeping track of the servicing portfolio requirements by each lender for each property. His duties include; yearly property inspections, completing the annual financial reviews, and acts as general link between Lender and Borrower for all loans Serviced by PFG Servicing Corporation. Ryan graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
